Thank you to our Supporters!
As we’re approaching the opening concert next Tuesday, we’d like to thank in advance our supporters, donors, and sponsors. These aren’t just financial contributions that are crucial to making our vision possible. More than that, they are relationships, human connections, they’re the heartwarming proof that the community is showing up for us. We’ve been so moved by your enthusiasm, the generous and sincere ways you’ve responded. What we’re trying to do is to share this wonderful art with you, make our concerts free and accessible, and you are welcoming us with open arms. This is truly a team effort.
Can’t wait to meet each and everyone of you. Next Tuesday at 5pm! Nose Creek Park! <3
All the love,
WMF Team
We’d like to thank:
City of Airdrie for a range of financial, logistical, and spiritual support!
Masters’s Academy and College for sponsoring a large portion of the cost for acquiring a grand piano for our outdoor concerts. You’ll hear this magnificent Kimball 6’9” instrument in the Amphitheater all week long!
V.A. Hill Fine Strings Ltd. for loaning us a beautiful cello for our resident artist!
Plam’s Piano Solutions for sponsoring our piano tuning!
A little personal story about Plam: our co-founder Tong used to go to his home/store to practice and they became good friends :) thanks for your generosity, Plam!
Solfeo Music Academy for letting us use their rehearsal space and lending us AV equipment!
Get Involved!
A letter from our co-founder:
My name is Tong and I’m a concert pianist and co-founder of a new classical music festival in Airdrie, AB “Windwood Music Festival".
I’ve always dreamed of starting an intimate community-based music festival right here in my hometown, Airdrie. And this year, my dear friend Maitreyi and I decided to dive into this initiative as a ‘pilot’ experiment. It’s been quite the ride! Lots of challenges but also beautiful moments getting the city and citizens involved!
Since we have such a limited budget this first year, we’re asking for as much in-kind support from local organizations/individuals as possible. We're welcoming any level of involvement from the Airdrie community, whether it be helping us with acquiring sound equipment, contributing photo/video skills to help us capture our events, general donations to cover musician travel/insurance, or even bringing out your grill to join our community barbecue/potluck at our closing concert!
Our vision is to grow this ambitious initiative annually - we’re learning so much already and are so looking forward to sharing these events with the community.
Thank you for your consideration!
Cheers,
Tong
