WMF 2022 Launch!
It is a wild time to be a classical musician. A scary time sometimes, but also… exciting. Full of possibility and potential.
Tong and I see connection, a world of connection. Between music and land and people. Between the food we cook and eat, the leaves we see on our walks, the people we meet, the music we play… it’s absolutely beautiful. And we want to share that, celebrate that, bring more of that to the classical music world.
Windwood Music Festival is our way of celebrating these connections and creating a space to share them with others. It is a space for musicians to explore music differently, to interact with communities by creating concerts that involve the community. We are so lucky to be in a field where connection comes so naturally, and we want to highlight that. That’s what makes what we do so beautiful. We want to show these threads that tie people, land, and music together, and what better place to show this than in idyllic Airdrie?
Classical music isn’t dying, classical music is alive, it breathes, it grows, it changes. We are grateful to all our mentors, all who continue to support us. And we are proud and excited to introduce Windwood Music Festival to you.
