Time to get in gear for Festival III: Steampunk Edition
With this high-octane opening concert featuring the entire Windwood Music Festival.
We'll start our journey with Shostakovich's piano quintet, where the prolific composer spells out the initials of his own name in a musical cryptogram.
Once that puzzle has been set, we'll jump to the future with Jessie Montgomery, Duke Ellington, and Radiohead.
We end with the wildly charismatic Kapustin concerto for violin and piano featuring Windwood founders, Duo Perdendosi, as well as Claude Lapalme, the conductor of the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra. This showstopper will also feature a string chamber orchestra of Windwood and Red Deer Symphony musicians. Come dressed in your steampunk best!
Doors open at 6:00pm
Concert starts at 7:00pm
Adults: $35.00
Seniors & Students: $20.00
Under 12 & Indigenous: Free
Post concert we invite you to join us in the foyer for an informal meet and greet. Bert Church Theatre will continue bar service for the artist reception.
